Ayya Medhanandi, a Canadian Buddhist nun, leaves the security of a large monastic community after many years to live as a solitary mendicant nun in a non-Buddhist country, according to the ancient system established by the Buddha. Scrabbling to sustain her most basic needs while upholding her vows, she endures and, in the spirit of Sati Saraniya - mindfulness and reconciliation - ‘goes forth’ again with new insight, strength and joy on an uncertain course.

Thank you Ayya Medhanandi
Thank you Ayya, for your continued inspiration, wise guidance and open-hearted loving-kindness and sharing with us all. Thank you also for walking this earth in peace with us in this life-time.
May you be well, happy and peaceful always - may you be free.
Until next time…soon we trust.
